Position Description | The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is seeking a Grants Coordinator with excellent organizational, writing and editing skills. The position provides an outstanding opportunity for individuals seeking to transition from bench science to research administration, writers seeking to leverage their talents to support a vital research mission, as well as others with strong analytical and organizational skills. This individual will report to the Vice President and Executive Director. Primary responsibilities will include providing technical support to both the Executive Director and OSP managers, and assisting pre-award, post-award and grant accounting teams to secure, manage and report on a multi-million dollar research program portfolio.

Position Requirements | Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Biology, English, finance, business or a related field is required and a masters or PhD in a scientific field is preferred.
Experience: 1-3 years of professional or postdoctoral experience is required. This may include work done while attending school. Knowledge: Knowledge of grants management related procedures and of Lawson/Information Business Systems is a plus. Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook is required. Skills: The candidate must possess exceptional organizational, writing, editing, communication and computer skills, and have the ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
