Mentors needed: Women/International Postdocs

Badger Buddies Postdoc Peer-Mentoring Program – Call for Women and International Mentors

The UW–Madison Postdoctoral Association (UWPA) would like to encourage postdocs, especially women and international postdocs, who have been at UW–Madison for at least 1 year to apply for the Badger Buddies Postdoc Peer-Mentoring Program.

This initiative will enable new postdocs at UW–Madison to connect with senior postdocs who share research, social, or personal interests and assist with the transition from graduate school to postdoc training, moving to United States from another country, or issues faced by underrepresented groups. The goal of this program is to help new postdocs with the transition into their next career stage, and to promote networking between new and established postdocs from similar backgrounds.

Senior postdocs who are interested in mentoring, developing transferable mentoring skills, or who would simply enjoy helping new postdocs should sign up for the Badger Buddies program. Fill out the brief application here to sign up; there you will also find a more detailed description of the program. If you decide to participate or have more questions about the program and its implementation, the association will be holding an initial informational session on Wednesday 4/10 4-5 pm in room 6201 of the Microbial Sciences Building. Questions? Contact Hector Burgos-Robles (hburgos@wisc.edu).
