TA-LEaP is designed for teaching assistants and all graduate students interested in learning about teaching techniques.
LEaP participants engage in a 2-day workshop designed to introduce them to the basic of teaching and learning using a curriculum developed and taught by the UW-Madison Teaching Academy. Participants will be introduced to evidence-based practices that have a high impact on student learning, including active learning ideas, syllabus and assignment design, assessment techniques, and information about what students really want from their instructors. Participants will also learn about how learning works, and how best to engage students, including approaches that instructors can use right away.
The TA-LEaP (for graduate student teaching assistants) Institute will be held on Tuesday August 20 – Wednesday August 21 from 9:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at room 2317 Engineering Hall.
