3MT® Three Minute Thesis

Friday, November 8, 9:00am–11:00am, Reception 11:00am–12:00pm

Take a break from grading, studying, or writing to watch, learn, and cheer on your friends and fellow UW-Madison grad students as they compete in the internationally recognized 3-Minute Thesis Competition. It’s a great way to get some ideas for ways to present your own research (or future research) to a general audience.

The event and reception are free and open to the public and no registration is required to attend.

Building Your Networking Confidence

More than simply schmoozing, networking develops your relationships with peers and colleagues for long-term success. Learn and practice a variety of techniques and strategies for meaningful networking, and how to play to your personal and professional strengths.

Career consultant Gina Jenkins will share proven strategies and best practices to help you optimize your LinkedIn profile and grow your professional network strategically. Participants will have the opportunity to have a professional headshot photo taken.
