Research Description

As a physician-scientist dedicated to understanding the biology of hepatobiliary and pancreatic cancer types for therapeutic discovery. Our group at the UW Center for Human Genomics and Precision Medicine develops patient-derived organotypic and xenograft models for downstream applications in advanced tissue culture for live cell imaging, CRISPR/Cas9 genomic screens, genome wide epigenetic mapping, phenotypic drug screens, comprehensive genomic profiling and selective gene pertubation to understand on target mechanisms of action. These projects are integrated in multiple translational applications including the Carbone Cancer Center’s Clinical Therapeutics Discovery and Development Team where I as serve as the lead for targeted therapeutic development. We have a particular focus in understanding transcriptional rewiring to inform forward selective disruption to prevent RNA expression of resistance mechanisms.
